Amdocs and IBM to Help Service Providers Enhance Customer Experience with Master Data Management
"Today at the Mobile World Congress 2008, Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) and IBM
(NYSE: IBM) announced that they will expand their global relationship
to help service providers deliver a dramatically improved customer
experience. A cornerstone of the recently announced Amdocs CES
(Customer Experience Systems) portfolio, the Amdocs Service Provider
Information Management solutions will now incorporate several IBM
Information on Demand middleware products to create new integrated
solutions for the wireline, mobile, cable and satellite services
industries."
Agile IT Architecture: A Cycle Approach for Business Rule Development
"The Agile Business Rule Development methodology details all the
different activities to develop a rule set, from rule discovery to rule
set deployment and maintenance. We can group the set of activities into
five groups. Those groups will be used to build an iterative approach
to the development..."
Moving Beyond Technology-centric Management to Dynamic Business Service Management
"Today businesses expect IT to be not just a technology provider but
also an engine for growth. This expanded role challenges IT to deliver
high-quality, business-oriented services while coping with escalating
technology complexity and diversity and driving down costs. IT needs a
unified management approach that directly links IT to the business and
increases efficiency through well-controlled automation."
Business Technology: Tech Spending: Is the Worst Over?
"Another sign that the worst may be over comes from a CDW survey
of 1,000-plus tech decision makers that will be released later today.
Fifty-three percent of the tech leaders surveyed said their budgets
will increase over the next six months, an increase of 15% from two
months ago. Only 8% of tech leaders thought their budgets would
decrease. Additionally, 26% expect to buy significant amounts of new
hardware over the next six months and 31% said the same about software,
increases of 3% and 4% respectively. Twenty-four percent said they’ll
increase staff, up from 16% two months ago. A Robert Half Technology
survey out yesterday also saw a jump in hiring for tech jobs."
What Slowdown?
"While cost cutting may not be new, the magnitude of what is likely to
be asked in the upcoming 9-12 months is different in kind from what has
been seen to date. And the pressure from business partners to innovate
and grow their own businesses will not go down in this slowdown. Now
more than ever, the margin for error on delivery performance is low: in
a recent survey of IT leaders we found drastically lower
business-partner tolerance for lapses in delivery. And, the pressure to
accelerate time to market has dramatically increased."
